What are Adams Rite accessories?
Adams Rite accessories are the strikes, cylinders, pulls, bolts, kits and power parts that complete an Adams Rite storefront lock or deadlock. The lock body is sold separately, and each lock needs the right strike, a cylinder or thumbturn, a pull or trim, and sometimes bolts for a pair of doors. Because Adams Rite parts are model-specific, always start from the lock model on the door. Our storefront lock parts guide shows how the pieces fit together.
Adams Rite strike plates: which strike fits which lock
Each strike is made for specific locks, and the lock model decides the strike. Box strikes, trim strikes and armored strikes differ in lip length and jamb prep. The catalog includes the 4000 MS trim strike and 4001 MS box strike, the 4505-01 flat armored strike and 4505-02 radius armored strike for the MS1890, the MS4002 armored strike, the 4505-17 and 4505-21 long-lip box strikes for center hung doors, and the 4506-02, 4901 and 4902 deadlatch strikes. Others include the 4006 (1830 bottom rail deadlock), 4170 (4070 short throw deadbolt), 4810 (5017 wood door deadlock) and the 4800 series.
Cylinders, thumbturns and pulls
The 4036-01 mortise cylinder is the keyed cylinder for MS locks, deadlatches and the 2190, and the 4066-01 is the thumbturn cylinder for the same locks. The 4036-01 is also offered keyed different (4036-01-01) and keyed alike in pairs (4036-01-02). Cylinder pulls with a Schlage C keyway include the 4024-00-01 (trim plate mounted), 4025-00-01 (stile mounted) and 4026-00-01 (for wood). Grip pulls (4413-02 and 4453-02), the 8650 cylinder escutcheon kit and the MS4043 cylinder guard complete the trim.
Bolts, kits and mounting parts
For a pair of doors, the inactive leaf is secured with a header bolt and a threshold bolt. The catalog has the 4016 header bolt, the 4085 header bolt for pairs of doors and the 4015-18-IB threshold bolt. The 4014-01 two-point conversion kit adds a second latch point to an MS1861 bottom rail deadlock, the TDK-1880 tall door kit supports doors up to 144 inches with the MS1880, and the 4104 mounting bridge and 4089 exit indicator are also available.
Electrification and power parts
Electrifying an Adams Rite lock takes a kit, a power transfer and a power source. The EK-2190 electrification kit (12/24 VAC/DC) is for the 2190 and 2290 dual force locks. The 4612 power transfer device carries power from the frame to the door, and the 4603 rectifier and 4605 wire-in transformer (12/24 VAC) supply and convert it. Fail-safe and fail-secure behavior depends on the lock model, so check the specification.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Adams Rite 4036 and 4066 cylinders?
The 4036-01 is a keyed mortise cylinder for MS locks and deadlatches, and the 4066-01 is a thumbturn cylinder for the same locks. Use the 4036 where a key operates the lock on that side, and the 4066 where a thumbturn does, usually on the inside of the door.
When would I need an Adams Rite 4612 power transfer device?
You need a 4612 power transfer device when you electrify a storefront door and have to carry power from the frame to the door-mounted lock. It runs the wiring across the hinge gap safely. Without it, the cable is exposed or gets pinched at the edge.
What do I need to electrify an Adams Rite storefront lock?
You need an electrified lock or the matching kit, such as the EK-2190 for the 2190 and 2290, a power transfer such as the 4612, and a power source with a rectifier or transformer, such as the 4603 or 4605. Add a keypad, reader or push button for the input.
Are Adams Rite header bolts and threshold bolts required on double storefront doors?
They are normally used to secure the inactive leaf of a pair, so the door does not open from the edge. Header and threshold bolts are common choices for this, but the exact requirement depends on the lock, the door and the code, so check the opening before ordering.
Can Adams Rite accessories be used with other manufacturers' storefront locks?
Sometimes, but not by default. Adams Rite parts are made for Adams Rite locks, so strikes, cylinders and kits are model-specific. Cylinders may share a cam or keyway standard with other brands. If you are mixing makers, send the lock model and we will confirm fit before you order.
What is an Adams Rite box strike?
A box strike is a strike plate with a pocket that receives the latch or bolt, used where the jamb is a narrow or hollow section. The 4001 is the box strike for MS deadlocks, and the 4505-17 and 4505-21 are long-lip box strikes for center hung doors with 4 or 4.5 inch jambs. Match the strike to the lock model.
What cylinder parts are available for Adams Rite locks?
The catalog has the 4036-01 mortise cylinder (keyed different or alike in pairs), the 4066-01 thumbturn cylinder, cylinder pulls with a Schlage C keyway (4024, 4025, 4026), the 8650 cylinder escutcheon kit and the MS4043 cylinder guard. Send the lock model and keyway so we can confirm the right cylinder before you order.
What does the Adams Rite two-point conversion kit do?
The 4014-01 two-point conversion kit adds a second latching point to the MS1861 bottom rail deadlock. This lets the lock hold the door at two points instead of one, which suits taller or wider doors. Check the door and the lock model before ordering the kit.
What is the Adams Rite tall door kit?
The TDK-1880 tall door kit is for the MS1880 deadlock on doors up to 144 inches tall. It extends the lock to reach the header on tall doors. Measure the door height and confirm the lock model before you order.
